If you have to have the choke it, it is a sign of very!! lean carburetor operation. Low fuel level or restriced fuel delivery. Carb and fuel system needs to be carefully cleaned, inspected, and adjusted for proper operation w/o the choke when the engine is warmed up. Leaness may lead to slow burning and damage to the exhaust valve and or cylinder/piston.
